- What is DNA-based coaching?
- It's health, nutrition, and fitness coaching guided by a DNA lifestyle report. A simple cheek swab is analyzed for genetic markers related to nutrition, exercise response, and healthy aging, and your Victory coach uses those results to build a food, movement, and lifestyle plan tailored to your genotype instead of a generic template.
- How does the DNA test work?
- You receive a collection kit at the address you choose. You rub a sterile swab along your gums for about a minute, pack the sample, and mail it back. A certified lab analyzes it and your interactive report is usually ready in about two to three weeks.
- Is this a medical or disease-risk genetic test?
- No. These are wellness and lifestyle reports. They do not diagnose conditions, screen for disease risk, or replace clinical genetic testing and genetic counseling. If you want diagnostic genetic testing, that's a conversation for your physician — see our Scope of Care page for what coaching does and does not include.
- What will my report actually tell me?
- Depending on the panel, it covers traits such as how you process carbohydrates, fat, and protein, your likely response to cardio versus strength training, nutrient needs, recovery tendencies, and healthy-aging markers like sleep, skin, and cognitive support — each with educational guidance and the supporting research.
- I already used 23andMe or AncestryDNA. Can you use that?
- In many cases yes — existing raw data can often be used to generate a lifestyle report without a new swab. Bring it to your consultation and we'll confirm whether your file is compatible.
- Do I have to retest later?
- No. Your DNA doesn't change, so the report is a one-time investment. What changes over time is your plan, which your coach adjusts as your labs, body composition, and goals evolve.
- Is DNA-based coaching available virtually?
- Yes. Kits ship to you and coaching sessions can be held by secure video, so DNA-based coaching is available virtually across the United States as well as in person in Hutto and West Lake Hills, TX.
- Can I pay for a DNA panel with my FSA or HSA card?
- DNA lifestyle panels and the coaching that goes with them are self-pay. Some plans will reimburse the panel when your provider deems it medically appropriate, so we itemize the kit and coaching separately on your receipt to make that claim easier.
- Is my genetic information kept private?
- Yes. Samples are processed by a certified laboratory and results are delivered through a secure portal that only you and your care team access. We never sell or share your genetic data.
