Know Your Metabolism. Don't Guess It.

A 10-minute breath test reveals your VO2 Max, resting metabolic rate, and how efficiently your body burns fat and fuel — the same data elite athletes and longevity clinics use to build precision training and nutrition plans.

Self-pay & FSA/HSA

Wellness, lifestyle, and overall health appointments and services are self-pay. FSA/HSA cards may be used when a service is deemed medically necessary by your provider; we can provide an itemized receipt for reimbursement.

What the Test Reveals

One 10-minute breath analysis, 23 biomarkers, and three numbers that shape every training and nutrition decision that follows.

VO2 Max — measured, not estimated

VO2 Max is the strongest known predictor of longevity and biological age: research links higher cardiorespiratory fitness to significantly lower all-cause mortality risk, and a landmark 2022 Journal of the American College of Cardiology study found low oxygen-processing capacity to be a stronger predictor of mortality than smoking, hypertension, or diabetes. PNOĒ measures yours directly from your breath rather than estimating it from a formula.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)

RMR drives roughly 60–75% of the calories you burn each day. Most online calculators guess at that number and can be off by 20% or more — PNOĒ measures it directly from your breath, with no assumptions baked in.

Fat vs. Carb Burn

The test shows exactly which fuel your body defaults to at rest and during exercise. That fuel-use profile shapes your personalized nutrition targets and your training heart-rate zones.

Why This Matters for Our Clients

Breath testing isn't a standalone gadget — it plugs into the programs Victory clients are already in.

If you're in Medical Weight Loss & Peptide Therapy

Appetite suppression from GLP-1 medications can unintentionally lower your resting metabolic rate and put lean muscle at risk. PNOĒ testing lets the coaching team see that happening in real time and adjust your nutrition and training to protect metabolism and muscle mass while you lose weight.

If you're in the H.E.A.L.T.H. or Metabolic Intelligence Program

VO2 Max and RMR add a performance and longevity layer on top of the glucose, nutrition, and lifestyle data your coach already tracks — a more complete metabolic picture instead of one slice of it.

How the Test Works

  1. Book Your Test

Schedule a 20–30 minute appointment at our Hutto or West Lake Hills clinic.

  2. Breathe Through the Mask

A lightweight, non-invasive mask measures oxygen and CO2 exchange during a short progressive effort test on a treadmill or bike. Active testing takes under 10 minutes.

  3. Get Instant Results

VO2 Max, biological age estimate, RMR, and fat/carb fuel usage are calculated immediately — no lab wait, no blood draw.

  4. Review With Your Coach

Your Victory coach walks through what the numbers mean and builds them into your training and nutrition plan.

  5. Retest to Track Progress

Most clients retest every 6–12 weeks to measure real change in fitness and metabolic age.

Who This Is For

  • Clients who want a true baseline before starting a new training or nutrition program
  • GLP-1 and medical weight-loss clients who want to protect muscle and metabolism during treatment
  • Clients over 40 focused on healthy aging and longevity
  • Athletes who want precise heart-rate training zones
  • Anyone who has tried online TDEE/RMR calculators and wants real, measured numbers instead

Questions

VO2 Max & RMR testing questions

What the test involves, how often to retest, and how it fits with your medical care.

What's actually involved in the test?
You wear a comfortable, lightweight mask that analyzes the air you breathe out while you rest and then during a short, progressive effort on a bike or treadmill. There is no blood draw and no fasting requirement beyond the standard pre-test guidance we send you (avoid heavy meals, caffeine, and hard workouts beforehand).
How is this different from a gym VO2 Max estimate?
Wearables and gym assessments estimate VO2 Max from heart rate and pace formulas. PNOĒ measures oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange directly from your breath, so you get measured values for VO2 Max, resting metabolic rate, and fuel usage instead of an algorithm's guess.
Do I need to be an athlete to do this?
No. The effort test is progressive and stops at a level appropriate for you, so it works well for general fitness, weight-loss, and longevity-focused clients — not just competitive athletes.
How often should I retest?
Every 6–12 weeks is typical. That window is long enough for training and nutrition changes to show up in your VO2 Max, metabolic rate, and fuel-use pattern.
Is this covered by insurance?
PNOĒ VO2 Max and resting metabolic rate testing is a self-pay wellness service, but it is HSA/FSA eligible. We can provide an itemized receipt for reimbursement. FSA/HSA cards may be used when a service is deemed medically necessary by your provider.
Does this replace medical care?
No. Testing and coaching are educational and are not medical care or a diagnosis. We coordinate with any medical weight-loss or clinical care you already have in place — see our scope of care for details.

Metabolic health describes how well your body handles fuel — glucose, insulin, lipids, blood pressure and waist circumference. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) turns those abstractions into a daily feedback loop you can act on. Read the full guide for the rest of the picture.
