- Where can I get an InBody scan near me in Austin or Hutto?
- Victory Health & Wellness offers InBody 580 scans at two Central Texas clinics: 3811 Bee Caves Road, Suite 101, West Lake Hills, TX 78746 (convenient for Austin, Westlake, Rollingwood, Lakeway and Bee Cave) and 201 E. Wilco Hwy, Suite 105, Hutto, TX 78634 (convenient for Hutto, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown and Taylor). Both clinics scan by appointment, Monday through Friday.
- How much does an InBody 580 scan cost?
- An InBody Ecosystem scan with a printed report is $40. The scan plus a results review with a Certified Health & Wellness Coach is $80. There is no membership requirement and no hidden fees.
- Do I need an appointment or a doctor's referral for an InBody scan?
- An appointment is required so the clinic room and analyzer are ready for you, and you can book online in a few clicks. No physician referral is needed, and the visit itself takes about 15 minutes.
- Can I use my HSA or FSA card for an InBody scan?
- Many clients pay for body composition assessments with an HSA or FSA card. Eligibility depends on your plan administrator, so check your plan details first — our HSA/FSA page explains what we can provide for documentation.
- What is an InBody scan?
- An InBody scan is a professional body composition assessment. Using bioelectrical impedance analysis, the InBody 580 estimates how your body weight is distributed across skeletal muscle, body fat, and body water, and provides related measurements such as visceral fat area and basal metabolic rate.
- How is InBody different from a bathroom scale?
- A scale reports one number: total weight. An InBody assessment breaks that weight down into muscle, fat, and water, and adds segmental detail for your arms, legs, and trunk. That context helps you see whether a change in weight reflects fat loss, muscle gain, fluid shifts, or a combination.
- What does the InBody 580 measure?
- Measurements may include skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, percent body fat, visceral fat area, segmental lean and fat analysis, intracellular and extracellular body water, ECW/TBW ratio, skeletal muscle mass index, phase angle, segmental phase angle, basal metabolic rate, and body composition history for repeat visits.
- How long does the assessment take?
- Plan on about 15–20 minutes for the full InBody Ecosystem assessment, including height, body composition, grip strength, and blood pressure. If you select the scan plus Health Coach consultation, allow additional time to review your results.
- Do I need to fast before my InBody assessment?
- We ask that you follow the Victory Health & Wellness pre-assessment instructions provided when you book. In general, a lighter stomach and normal hydration support more consistent readings — and repeating the assessment under similar conditions each time makes your trends easier to compare.
- What should I wear?
- Comfortable, light clothing works best. You will stand on the analyzer with bare feet and hold the hand electrodes, so plan for shoes and socks to come off. Please follow any additional guidance in your pre-assessment instructions.
- Can I exercise before my assessment?
- We generally suggest completing your assessment before strenuous exercise, since recent training and related fluid shifts can affect readings. Follow the pre-assessment instructions you receive when booking, and try to keep conditions similar for each repeat assessment.
- How often should I repeat my InBody scan?
- Many clients reassess every 4–12 weeks, which is generally long enough for nutrition, training, or program changes to show up in body composition and strength measurements. Your coach can suggest an interval that fits your goals.
- Can I use InBody if I am taking a GLP-1 medication?
- Yes. Body composition assessment is often used alongside medical weight management to help monitor changes in fat mass and lean mass over time. Your prescribing clinician continues to direct your medical care; our assessments and coaching are educational and supportive.
- Why does Victory include blood pressure and grip strength?
- Body composition alone is only part of the picture. Adding an automated blood pressure measurement and a clinical-grade grip strength test gives a broader wellness baseline that reflects cardiovascular measurements and functional strength, not just body fat and muscle.
- Will someone explain my results?
- If you choose the scan plus consultation option, a Certified Health & Wellness Coach reviews your results with you, highlights key wellness opportunities, and discusses appropriate next steps. The scan-only option includes your printed or digital report without a consultation.
- Is InBody testing appropriate for everyone?
- Bioelectrical impedance analysis is not recommended for individuals with implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators, and results may be less reliable during pregnancy. If you have a medical condition or concern, please check with your healthcare professional before scheduling.
