Movement Is Part of Healthy Aging: Why We're Launching Victory Yoga

Healthy aging is not about doing more. It is about staying able to do the things you love. That is why we are launching Victory Yoga on Wednesday, November 4, 2026: gentle, chair-supported movement that meets you where you are.

Why movement matters as we age

Regular physical activity is one of the most consistent habits linked with healthy aging. The U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines encourage older adults to combine aerobic activity, muscle strengthening and balance training, adjusted to their abilities.1 A large research review found that exercise programs with balance and functional training reduced the rate of falls in older adults living in the community.2

That does not mean any single class guarantees a result. It means movement belongs in your week, the same way meals and sleep do. Small, steady sessions add up.

Yoga for beginners: begin where you are

You don't need to be experienced. You don't need to be flexible. You just need somewhere to begin.

  • Chair options are always available. Many poses can be done seated or with a chair for support.
  • Modifications are offered. Your instructor will show simpler and more supported versions.
  • Go at your own pace. Rest whenever you need to. Comfort comes first.

Yoga offers opportunities to work on flexibility, balance, range of motion and body awareness, with time to slow down and breathe.

Three ways to practice at Victory

SilverSneakers is a registered trademark of Tivity Health, Inc. Eligibility and benefits vary by plan.

Hearing, balance, and staying connected

Many of the people we serve live with hearing loss, tinnitus or balance concerns. You are welcome in every Victory Yoga class. Instructions pair clear verbal cues with visual demonstration, and our in-person room is equipped with Auracast assistive-listening technology that streams the instructor's voice to compatible hearing aids, cochlear implants or a personal receiver.

A class is also a chance to see familiar faces. Research consistently links strong social connection with better long-term health,3 and a weekly group gives you a reason to show up, move and talk with others.

Yoga is not hearing, tinnitus or vestibular treatment. Hearing and clinical balance care are provided separately by our sister practice, Victory Hearing & Balance. If balance is a concern, our Balance & Fall Risk services can help you understand where you are before you begin.
